Māori Research Ethics Symposium 2023
Te Whānau o Waipareira and Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi

Presented by Te Whānau o Waipareira in association with Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārang, this symposium is valueable to all researchers (both Māori and non-Māori) who are interested in better understanding Māori perspectives of research and ethics. For over seven years we have had the Waipareira Māori Research Ethics Committee in place to ensure those wanting to research on and with Waipareira are approved and managed according to the Waipareira Research Ethics Criteria.

Watch this series on YouTube.

We are very fortunate to have the following presenters:
Dr. Lily George – Former Chair of the New Zealand Ethics Committee
Dr. Tia Dawes – Former member of the University of Auckland Human Participants Ethics Committee
Dr. Tony O’Connor – Researcher and Evaluator 20+ years across government and non-government agencies
Hector Kaiwai – Wai Rangahau Director, Kaupapa Māori Researcher and Evaluator 20+ years
