Dr. Tia Dawes

Tia has co-led the kaumātua research initiatives for the past six years with the James Henare Research Centre, collaborating on projects funded by the Health Research Council (HRC) and the Ageing Well National Science Challenge (NSC). His research delves into the importance and central role of kaumātua in knowledge production and the preservation of mātauranga within Māori communities. He brings growing experience in bicultural research in health, applying innovative qualitative and ethnographic methodologies.
